After an overwhelming premiere, the official release of the german version of our short film will be on Saturday, the 22th of August. Of course, there will be a blog entry as soon as it’s online, and the English version and DVD download will follow after that.
On the 15th of august we invited all of our families, friends and colleagues to join us for the premiere at the Apollo-Service Cinema in Münchberg.
At first it was planned as a small premiere with 40 to 50 guests. But the interest spread so wide, that we finally had more than 100 people in the audience (most of them in their evening dresses).
We as a team are really grateful for an overwhelming evening, the generous donations, as well as the vivid discussions and critiques, that went on until 6 in the morning.
We would like to thank all of the guests for sharing this unique moment with us. You turned this evening into something very special!
Of course the film will soon be released in german and english, there will be information on further screenings of the movie and finally we’re planning on producing a small amount of DVDs containing some extras.
The english version of our trailer is now online. Please excuse our bad german accent. But as always: feedback of any kind is really appreciated.
Or better watch it on Vimeo to see the HD Version!
Finally. After a lot of hard work and a few quarrels inside the team we are all pretty satisfied with the outcome. And now, withouth further ado – the german trailer for sleep:less!
(an english version will follow in about a week)

On crunchgear.com you can find an interesting interview with Jack Conte, whose music we used in our film.
On the down side, something had to happen at some point. Of course, it’s not a worst case scenario, but it’s very annoying: all the raw material of our interviews (which were planned as a special for the dvd) is gone. The only thing we still have are the interviews with Ariane, Karl and Benjamin, rendered in a bad MPG quality (maybe good enough for publishing on youtube) and the original sound recording.
But on the up side, the work on the movie is progressing quite well. Inofficial premiere and release dates are set and will be made public, accompanied by the trailer, on either Wednesday or next week.
As some of you might have noticed, there are now two versions (english and german) of the blog. The translation is now finished and there even is a new style for the blog. There will probably be a couple more small changes ’till we finally reach our goal, but we’re getting closer to finding our own uniqe style, and consequently that of the movie.
The special effects should be finished by the end of next week, too. After that, it’s time to produce the trailer and set an official release date.
Our friend and supporter (Stoffwerk Helmbrechts) Danielle Hedler is just about to design the invitations for the premiere, the DVD cover and a new header for the blog.
I was really impressed when I saw what she has done so far. And I am very grateful that we get so much support from so many people. Every couple of days we make a small or a big step forward.
If it stays that way, the premiere should be at the end of June. The movie will of course be published here shortly after that. Stay tuned.
Working on the details is really taking longer than I thought. And now we even need external help. Robert Hitzer will help us out with a special effect for a particular scene, that would have otherwise been removed completely. For that (and for his very generous price-offer) I am very thankful.
Unfortunately, I can hardly wait until the final logo design is finished (there will be a new header then) and the almost completed movie is rendered, so we can finally cut the trailer – and set a release date.
The weekend is as good as over and our effects-guy Sven is on his way back to Hamburg. We have found our “look” for the movie and therefore the biggest part of our work is done. The moment of completion is getting closer and we can’t wait to finally show the movie to a larger audience.
